Survey on the usage of self-describing data formats

Hi everyone,

for my PhD thesis I am conducting a small survey.
It focuses mostly on the usage of self-describing data formats such as HDF5, NetCDF or ADIOS2 with a small section on post-processing and data access APIs.
I would be glad if you would participate in this survey and also forward it to anyone you see fit. Beta tests showed answering takes about 5 to max 10 minutes.

Interesting survey! It could be very useful to have its result shared with the community afterwards if you don’t mind :slight_smile:

In particular, I’m interested in what question 3.4 of the survey (What are typical operations computed often in post-processing and analysis in your field?) will identify since we are currently enabling HDFql with (HDF5) data post-processing features and it would be great to learn what are the most common operations performed by users.
