For anyone who is interested in the REST interface for HDF5 (see http://hdf-forum.184993.n3.nabble.com/RESTful-HDF5-td4025808.html), I've recently started working on a prototype service that implements the (draft) interface. The prototype is not intended to be a production ready implementation (e.g. It won't support authentication), but should be a useful testbed for validating the API. The work is still in the early stages, but feedback would be most helpful. I'll be putting the code on github in a few weeks. Also, if you have in mind scenarios where a production quality version of the service would be useful, please let us know what these are and what requirements the service would need to fulfill. (e.g. Throughput needs)
Last month I gave a talk at the ESIP Workshop (http://wiki.esipfed.org/index.php/Summer_2014_Meeting), where I sketched out how the REST api would integrate with some of our other initiatives.
