PureHDF: HDF5 on a free, cross-platform, open-source developer platform - Gerd Heber on Call the Doctor 10/31/23

A large part of the HDF5 usability story is the story of the HDF5 community. If it weren’t for community projects such as PyTables, h5py, rhdf5, HDFql, etc., the HDF5 library would have remained an obscure and highly unusable technical detail. I want to use this HDF clinic to draw your attention to PureHDF, an independent implementation of HDF5 in C#/.NET. By ‘independent,’ I mean independent of the HDF5 library. This is no small achievement and offers a fresh perspective on what’s possible with modern languages and platforms. If you thought that .NET was a Windows-only Microsoft thing, then this is your chance to experience a modern, free, cross-platform, open-source developer platform for building many different types of applications, and HDF5 is a first-class citizen.
