openmpi

Hi All

Has anyone run across this error when running parallel HDF5 with intel /
OpenMPI

./test.x: symbol lookup error: ./test.x: undefined symbol:
H5Pset_fapl_mpio

The standard parallel HDF5 example on the HDF5 site runs fine with intel
/ MPICH; however, when I switch to OpenMPI,
it seems fall at H5Pset_fapl_mpio(....) , is it a mistake during build
or something different ?

Yours sincerely
Wei Liu

Wei,

I haven't personally tried openmpi but this looks like a build issue. Make sure that parallel is really enabled by configure - if it fails the MPI tests in configure it may turn off parallel, which would cause that symbol to be undefined. You can check your libhdf5.settings file to see if it was really enabled.
