a new version of the HDF5DotNet wrapper, we would like to use the
opportunity to solicit
input and participation for the continued development of the wrapper.
Together with you, we would like to identify and agree on how to address
issues
with the current version of the wrapper, and set some development milestones
for turning
the wrapper into a high-quality piece of software. At least initially, we
would like to use
a more interactive forum for discussion and propose to organize a virtual
meeting on EVO
(http://evo.caltech.edu/evoGate/) on Thursday, April 14 at 1:00pm CDT.
There's some flexibility in the date/time and please respond and suggest
alternatives
if you would like to participate.

Dear HDF5DotNet users, in preparation for Thursday's meeting I've put
together a
small "laundry list" of some of the technical issues with the HDF5DotNet
wrapper
that we are aware of. Whether you are planning on attending or not, I
encourage you
to put together/submit/present your own list.
There is no formal agenda for the meeting. I will update you on the current
version
of the wrapper (for HDF5 1.8.6) and its official release. I will also try to
articulate
our thoughts on the purpose and role of the wrapper in general and how to
turn
it into a community effort. Then the floor will be pretty much open for
anything
on your mind regarding the wrapper.
I'm looking forward to "virtually" meeting as many of you as possible on
Thursday.
