HDF View download not available ?

Hi,
I've been unsuccessful in trying to download the hdfview from

ftp://ftp.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/hdf-java/hdfview/hdfview_install_linux_novm.bin

I got this link from:

http://www.hdfgroup.org/hdf-java-html/hdfview/UsersGuide/ug01introduction.html#ug01installation

Is there any other location/mirror?

Hello Mark,

The link is okay for me. You could try downloading a couple of
other ways. There is a copy of the ftp server on the http server,
here:

   http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/

So you could try downloading the hdfview_install_linux_novm.bin file from
this location:

   http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/HDF5/hdf-java/hdfview/

If this doesn't work, then try using ftp from a command line:

  $ ftp ftp.hdfgroup.org
    <log in with the name "anonymous">

Go to the hdfview directory:

  > cd HDF5/hdf-java/hdfview/

Check where you are:

  > pwd
  > ls

Download "hdfview_install_linux_novm.bin" (in binary) and quit

  > bin
  > get hdfview_install_linux_novm.bin
  > quit

You could also try downloading from our staging area, which has the same
files as the ftp server at the moment:

   ftp://ftp.hdfgroup.uiuc.edu/pub/outgoing/ftp-thg/HDF5/hdf-java/hdfview/

Also, some browsers will try to display the contents of the script when
you click on the link. In this case, right-mouse click on the link and
use Save Link As to download the installation file. Maybe this is what was
occurring?

Thanks this works. Turns out the cause was a paranoid router firewall
is blocking ftp access.
It will have to stay that way so it is useful to know the http server route.
