Release of HDF 4.2.10
The HDF 4.2.10 release is now available. It can be obtained from the
HDF Downloads page:

HDF 4.2.10 is a minor release with a few new features and changes,
including the following:
o Support was added for Visual Studio 2012 with Intel Fortran 13
on Windows 7 and Windows 8.
o Many changes and improvements to the configuration files were
made, including:
- The default C compiler for Macintosh platforms was changed to
the Apple supported clang compiler.
- The -Xc (strict ansi standard) option is no longer specified by
default on Solaris.
- A few changes were made to the CMake support.
- Configuration files for old platforms were removed.
This release contains other changes not listed here. Please be sure to

Future Changes to Supported Compilers
-------------------------------------
Please be aware of the following changes to future releases of HDF4:
o The HDF4 C library will be upgraded to the C99 standard.
o The HDF4 Fortran library will only be tested and supported
with Fortran 90 compilers.
We strongly encourage you to upgrade if you are using HDF4 with a
pre-C99 C compiler or a Fortran compiler prior to Fortran 90.
