HDF group mail list archive?

Hi list,
I've just subscribed and have two questions:

1) Are there any public archives of the forum mail list and the help mail list?
2) What is the relation between unidata.ucar.edu group and the hdfgroup.org?

Thanks in advance
Mark

do you mean the NetCDF-HDF mailing list? If so, that one is for the
new NetCDF4 interface. NetCDF4 combines the NetCDF API with the HDF5
file format, so it's indirectly HDF5 related.

I was thinking more generally in terms of personnel/code/effort: close
co-operation or not?

Yes, we try to work closely with the Unidata netCDF-4 team - we test their daily snapshots against our latest HDF5 code and try to resolve problems quickly.

I had asked your first question before and received the following response:

Unfortunately, we don't have archives of the mailing list on the web
yet, but they are available through an e-mail interface. Send mail to 'hdf-forum-help@hdfgroup.org
' for instructions on how to retrieve messages from the archive.

It's a bit clunky, but it works. I have no idea about your second question..

Yes, speaking for Unidata, we have a cooperative relationship with the
HDF Group. They have implemented features we have requested, explained
features we didn't understand very well, participated in presentations
at our netCDF workshop, and given us excellent support. We look forward
to continuing a productive working relationship.
