The 2024 HDF5 User Group meeting is taking place this August 5-7 in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
HDF5 has been the most used data management and I/O library throughout the world. For over 25 years, people worldwide have relied on our open-source HDF software to solve some of the most challenging data management problems. At the HDF5 User Group (HUG) meetings, we bring together HDF5 users, developers, ecosystem developers, and future workforce together to accommodate discussion of requirements for future as well as using numerous HDF5 features effectively. You can check out the list of Accepted Presentations for this year’s event.
Thanks to a grant, this year the United States Research Software Engineer Association (US-RSE) (https://us-rse.org/) will reimburse registration fees to students, and we have room in our funding to cover a few more students! The registration fee covers in-person registration (which includes breakfast and lunch all 3 days, plus a banquet out—a great networking opportunity) or remote registration. We may also have additional funds left to help with travel expenses, subsidize childcare, or help in other ways if there are factors that make attending difficult for a student or early career professional. Please email hug@hdfgroup.org and we’ll get more info to you.
Full information about the conference can be seen at HUG24. Email hug@hdfgroup.org with any questions. Students who have already registered will get reimbursed. We need to get info back to US-RSE about our expenses, so please reach out as soon as you can.
