FAILED when building HDF5 libraries

Dear Officer,
I am working on Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack
3. I downloaded hdf5-1.8.4-patch1.tar from
http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/HDF5/current/src/, extracted files by 7-zip,
and did exactly as stated in the file INSTALL_Windows_Short_VS2005.TXT
(which is also attached in this email), except that I am using Microsoft
Visual Studio 2008 instead of 2005. When I came to "Testing HDF5 C/C++
Libraries", after running hdf5check,there are*FAILED*" marks. The attached
file"FAILED marks" shows what it is like in my command prompt.
I sincerely hope that you could give me some advice to solve the problem.
Thank you very much!

Whenever using command line scripts on Windows, it is always a good idea to not use spaces in the path. The problem here is that the path:
"E:\TingTing\original softwares\hdf5\hdf5-1.8.4-patch1"
has a space between "original" and "softwares" and confuses the command line script. Replace the space with a character and rerun hdfcheck.bat.

I renamed my the folder "original softwares" as "softwares", and then
ran hdf5check
enablecpp. That FAILED mark really did not occure, but it took more than 40
minutes to finish the test. Is it abnormal that the check takes so much
time?

As shown in the attached file, the test result shows "All HDF5 release dll
tests passed" at the end, but also shows "FAILED HDF5 Tests". Have I really
buit hdf5 libraries successfully?

Additionally, besides downloading hdf5-1.8.4-patch1.tar from

http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/HDF5/current/src/, I also downloaded

hdf5-1.8.4-patch1-win32-vs2008-ivf101-enc.zip from
http://www.hdfgroup.org/HDF5/release/obtain5.html\. I wonder if this packet
is also useful for building the hdf libraries. So how should I use it?
