In the the Windows Install notes,
hdf5-1.9.69\release_docs\INSTALL_Windows.txt, there is a line reading:
HDF5_EXT_SZIP environment variable as szlibdll.lib
If I'm not mistaken, with the latest szip libraries that line should now
read:
HDF5_EXT_SZIP environment variable as szip.lib
Based upon the libraries for vs2008 found at:
http://www.hdfgroup.org/ftp/lib-external/szip/2.1/bin/windows/

Yes, good catch! I will also need to double-check other references.
Thanks,
