Hi,
In the User Manual Release 1.4.5 there are two sections "Dataset
Chunking" and "Performance".
In the User Manual Release 1.8.2 these sections seem to have been
removed - correct?
To what extent are the details/advice in these sections still valid?
Partially, not at all, mostly, etc.?

Dataset Chunking document is still valid. We plan to expand the document and make it available for the upcoming 1.8.3 release this May.
Pablo support was removed in 1.6.4 release (in 2005).
We have been working on improving free space management. New faster implementation of free space tracking in a file was done for the 1.8.2 release and persistent free space tracking in a file is in works.
