anyone with experience writing own vfd external to lib

Hi All,

Does anyone know if its possible to compile a user-written vfd (virtual
file driver) WITHOUT including a slew of private HDF5 header files that
are NOT part of an installed HDF5 library?

The stdio and multi VFDs that ship with the HDF5 distribution don't use any private header files.
