New H5T_STRING type

Hi all,

I've seen that the new release 1.8.8 supports the H5T_STRING data type.
However, I've been unable to successfully write using this datatype.

Could someone post an example on how to use this datatype for both
fixed-length and variable-length using C?

Thanks!
Marcial

Marcial,

If you have access the library's source code, you can find one test function test_str_create in test/dtypes.c. It tests H5Tcreate in a very simple way. I'm going to create an example program. I'll let you know once I finish it.

Thanks.
