HDF5 Java API

[...]

The reason I'm asking is that I'm working on a new experimental wrapper for

HDF5 in Java that is closely modelled on the C++ API.

Could someone from the HDF Group maybe give us an update as to the
development status of the official Java wrapper? Are there any new releases
planned?

I've found the current version doesn't quite meet my needs, so I've also
been working on a wrapper, although it is one that is geared towards a
different API.

Thanks,

- Solomon

Dear HDF5 users,

Our latest Java products release is based on HDF5 1.6.6. and HDF4.2r2 ( see http://www.hdfgroup.org/hdf-java-html/). At this point we do not have any definite plans for the new Java products release.

We hope to come up with the new release based on HDF5 1.8.* and HDF4.2r3 sometime later this year if funds become available.
