Release of HDF 4.2.12
The HDF 4.2.12 release is now available. It can be obtained from the
HDF Downloads page:

HDF 4.2.12 is a minor release with a few changes including the following:
o The Java HDF JNI library has been integrated into HDF. The package
hierarchy has also been changed to "hdf.hdflib".
o The HDisnetcdf64 function was added for determining whether or not a
file is a netCDF 64-bit file.
o The hdp utility can now detect a netCDF 64-bit file.
o Support was added for Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 and El Capitan 10.11.

Future Changes to Supported Compilers and Platforms
---------------------------------------------------
Please be aware that after this release, we will be dropping Mac OS X 10.8.
We will also be moving to the latest version of CMake.
In addition, the Windows standard will move from VS 2013 with Intel Fortran 15
to VS 2015 with Intel Fortran 16.
