Embed JPEG images in HDF5

Hi Folks
In HDF4 we have function calls like:
DF24putimage and DF24addimage to encode a JPEG 24 bit image within a HDF file. I am wondering if there is anything similar in HDF5? Can anyone kindly provide some example/links etc?
